Nitrogen Paintball Tanks
You may be wondering, where is this man's nitrogen paintball tank. There is no tank connected to his paintball gun. Well that is precisely the point. The paintball tank is fastened to this paintball player's back.

Nitrogen paintball tanks are advantageous in every way, except that they are fairly heavy. So to counteract a nitrogen tanks weight, many of the current paintball vests have a custom design that includes an attachment for a heavy paintball tank. YEEEEEAAAA!!

Now why should a player choose a nitrogen tank, instead of a co2 paintball tank? Well, they are awesome! And here are the reasons for their awesomeness.

Nitrogen Paintball Tanks.....

1- Allow for more shots per refill - Nitrogen air is more condensed than co2, and as a result, less air is needed to provide the force needed to propel a paintball. Also, nitrogen tanks are usually larger in size. So yep, if monitored properly, a player will not run out of air in the middle of an important match.

2- Malfunction A LOT LESS OFTEN - paintball players who use co2 paintball tanks will tell you that problems are constant. Co2 tanks are cheap, and inferior, and the reason is because paintball manufacturers consider them to be somewhat of a dinosaur. Paintball player's demand the quality that nitrogen offers, so co2 has fallen by the way side. OF course, co2 tanks are cheaper, so a newbee to paintball might prefer starting with a co2 tanks. But for every serious player, the transition to a nitrogen tank ALWAYS happens at some point.

common problems that paintball players have with co2 tanks are: stripped threading, crystallization and dramatic inconsistencies in velocity.

3- Controllable velocity and accuracy - Good quality nitrogen tanks have allow players to set the amount of pressure dispersed with each and every shot. What this means is that a player can control how much velocity his paintballs will have. The logic is simple, the amount of pressure on a paintball determines the velocity. If you can control the amount of pressure, you can control the velocity. Co2 tanks cannot control the pressure, and as a result, players who use co2 will shoot far, then short, and some shots will be so weak that they do not reach the intended target. What essentially happens is velocity determines accuracy. And with co2 tanks, you will find that you cannot control anything. Nitrogen tanks have come to the rescue.

Nitrogen paintball tanks are a great investment!

The only reason that players avoid buying these tanks are because of their price. But many of these same players will be a grossly expensive paintball gun. The fact is, most players do not realize how much of an improvement nitrogen paintball tanks can offer to your playing performance. And a good bargain on one of these tanks will not cost all that much. A player can buy one of these tanks for less than 80 bucks. Spending 80 dollars less on the rest of your paintball gear, and putting it into one of these tanks is a wise decision.

The most important piece of paintball equipment, you will ever own is... of course, your paintball gun. But paintball guns are expensive, and the performance improvement of a paintball gun that is 80 dollars more expensive then the one you own, will not be all that much. However, the difference from a co2 paintball tank to to a nitrogen paintball tank is dramatic, and will significantly impact your game.
